Honestly if it were up to me I would spend a Miami New Year’s eve in my pajamas, with Zoey, and drinking champagne. Ha. I’M JUST KIDDING.
I know most people hate New Year’s, but I celebrate another year that I survived life and properly fed, clothed, and housed myself. In 2010 I did so well, I decided to adopt a furry creature because super heroes take care of others. She’s still alive!
So while most people grunt and roll their eyes at another year, I throw on a sparkly dress, grab life by the horns, and celebrate what I achieved. You should too because you are a badass and #youdeserveit.
This year my boo and I will be celebrating beach side in Puerto Rico. For those of you staying in Miami, here is my list of hot spots for the countdown.
Sometimes you just need a staycation and Faena is totally calling my name. Their hotel package includes VIP accommodations (VIP always sounds better) and special prix fixe four-course dinner at Los Fuegos or Pao. Then continue your cocktails at the Night in Havana New Year’s Eve party at the Faena Theater. There awaits an evening of old-world Cuban glamour, romance and music, where a live band will revive the iconic city’s glamorous past with electrifying performances well past the midnight hour. Boogie Woogie Woogie. The best part is that you can recover in style on New Year’s Day with a live-fire Asado Brunch at Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann and complimentary Wet Spa passes from Tierra Santa Healing House. Ummm. Can I move in?
Don’t worry if you would rather come home to your own bed, Faena also offers a Dinner or Party Package.

There’s no party like a Bagatelle party and New Year’s Eve is no different! They just take the party up a couple notches. To welcome 2017, Chef Matthieu Godard will host a three course menu at 7 PM and a champagne toast at midnight. If you need extra time to get dolled up, don’t worry the second seating is at 10 PM and will feature a more decadent five course menu. Sounds will be curated by Vincent Daubas aka leave the stilettos at home ladies.

I’m always down to party with a mariachi band and guacamole. It makes me want to dance like the red dress emoji chica. This New Year’s Eve, indulge in a three course menu of refined Mexican cuisine with a view of the Miami skyline. For your drinkie drink, you can either enjoy dinner with a glass of Dom Perignon or unlimited classic margaritas and wine and a glass of Dom Perignon. I don’t know about you, but unlimited margs + mariachi band equals somebody take my phone from me. Tequila always wins.
Whichever way you decide to celebrate, take an Uber or Lyft because drinking and driving is so last year.
Goodbye 2016. This warrior ninja is ready to take on 2017. Bring it.
