In honor of the conclusion of Swim Week Miami 2015 – instead of writing about skinny models – I’m gonna post photos of naughty donuts instead. You are welcome!
For those of you that know me personally, you know that I have a major sweet tooth which means I would’ve been the first to go in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory. Because of this I am always looking for a sweet fix. And for those who are sugar junkies, a trip to Mojo Donuts will satisfy any craving. Last week I shimmied over to Mojo to check out their yummy treats for an editorial I was working on for British Airways (stay tuned). Sean Neifeld, the owner of Mojo, and I met for coffee to discuss his entrepreneurial story… and he watched in awe as I ate donut after donut like a kid that had escaped from fat camp. #dontjudgeme.
My goal was to discover the yummiest donut they offered. So, I rolled up my sleeves, and starved myself for days to make sure I had plenty of room to devour donuts.
First I started with the Bacon Nutella Donut. What a dirty dirty little nugget. I can’t believe this is legal in most states. Shawn told me how he and his wife started Mojo after their travels revealed a donut trend across the country. Miami was missing this and they decided to bring their love of the round treat to Pembroke Pines.
As I moved on to the Almond Joy Donut…. I realized this donut was too pretty to eat. You know those fancy pastry shops in France? Well Mojo takes just as much care in their presentation as the Frenchies do. I
Up next is the Slutty Brownie Donut. This naughty girl is smothered in rich chocolate and topped with a brownie. Meow.
My favorite is the Deco Drive Donut which was created and named after a local show. Baked and glazed to perfection the donut is stuffed with banana crème pie filling, rolled in Corn Flakes, and topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Your choice of white or dark chocolate drizzle completes the donut.
