This past Saturday Brickellista Files celebrated it’s one year anniversary. Can you believe it has already been one year?! Time flies when you are drinking tequila… and having fun.
I decided to throw my baby blog a party because we all know I am always looking for an excuse to party! And… this is the only time that a one year old can legally drink champagne on it’s birthday – without the intervention of child services.
Lilt Lounge hosted the soirée in it’s swanky jazz lounge. And despite Saturday night’s monsoon, 60 of my closest friends, readers, and supporters joined to party – so proud of these party monsters. Lilt Lounge kicked off the night with oysters and a champagne toast.
Sweets by Sonia created a dessert bar that would make Marie Antoinette green with envy. Sonia’s coffee creme brulees were a hit, but my personal favorite were the guava cupcakes. Seriously they are sinful…
And let’s not forget the highly instagramemd too-cute-to-eat chocolate covered Oreos. These were so gorgeous!
My beautiful friend Ceiliah from @Miami_Bloom added love to the party with pretty flowers. The evening was exactly what I wanted for the first year celebration. Great conversation, great friends, and delicious treats. It was also the perfect start to a new blog year and kicking off new goals and ideas.
When I first embarked on this journey – I wanted to be anonymous – it sounded so romantic: a girl, her computer… and her 30 cats. Eek. Okay, I get it, sounds a little creepy, but anonymity felt liberating! But once the cat was out of the bag (thanks Brickell Magazine), I realized that interacting with all of you, openly, has been the fun part of this journey. The coolest feeling is reading an email and hearing your opinions and ideas for topics. And although we have never met – we are writing to each other like old friends – that is something I never expected.
Like Miami, my readers are truly diverse. This isn’t just Google Analyics speaking. From my old friends in Miami to my new friends in the Land Down Under all of you have helped shape this blog. I’ve learned a lot this first year and interacting with each of you has made this journey totally worthwhile.
On this Birthday, I am truly celebrating YOU – all 6,127 of you – who interact with Brickellista Files and make this blog a part of your weekly routine. I’m honored that you have chosen my baby blog to be a part of your life, and as long as you promise to read, send emails and interact, I promise that I will keep writing for you… sans cats.
Thank you for following my first year’s journey, and cheers! – to more adventures together.
Birthday Suit Kisses,
