Whisper Cocktail Lounge
I know, I know this place has a name that sounds more like a strip club than a cool HH spot, but bear with me. Located on the 50th floor of the W Brickell with impeccable views of Miami, Whisper is changing things up for the locals. Bounce Back Thursday’s is the newest happy hour on the block with 80’s and 90’s theme featuring local DJs spinning the best throwback classic hits. Not enough? How about board games and candy treats (think: Ring Pop’s and Fun Dip). $5 Cocktails $6 Beers
Cantina La Viente
The Downtown scene is taking shape and it’s thanks to spots like Pawn Broker at the Langford Hotel. I used to kill happy hour at this spot last year and recently I came back to give it a whirl once again. Their $7 cocktails, $6 wines, and $5 beers are perfect for post work woes. And their menu selection with Taquitos and Roasted Beet Hummus help keep your belly in tact so you can keep on drinkin’.
A few weeks ago I stumbled into Black Market to fall in love with the jams. This 5,500-square-foot space offers everything a sports fan could want – 30 TV screens, a pool table, arcade games, and game-day specials. But more important the music is on fire. I rarely dance at happy hours, but give me a few vinos and I’ll shake it like Beyonce. Black Market is one of the newer joints downtown and has a great happy hour filled with professionals looking to escape work. Check their website for current specials and game day calendars.
SUGAR at the EAST Hotel
My friends don’t call me Queen of the East for no reason! The Tea Room at Sugar has become one of my staple spots in Brickell. And while SUGAR doesn’t offer generous happy hour specials the views make up for the cost. My pick is the $10 Albariño paired with the Lamb Satay.
My friend Jess and I have a serious taco obsession and we both happily make the trek to Miami Beach for the $2 happy hour tacos at Bodega. I love it so much that last summer I met Danielle and Adrienne almost every day at Bodega for happy hour. I should get a medal for loyalty and commitment. So what are the happy hour deets? $2 Tacos, $3 Chips and Guacamole, $5 Tequila Shots, $4 cervesas, and $6 margaritas
If you’re in the mood for something different or a cute date night then the Nautilus Hotel is for you. Enjoy a Mediterranean getaway at the Nautilus Cabana Club with $5 bites such as Mediterranean Flatbreads, Chicken Skewers with tzatziki, Lamb Sliders with black cherry marmalade, ham and cheese croquettes, Lamb Empanadas, and Pan con Lechon and pickled onions. Wash down each dish with $5 house wines and beer or $7 cocktails classics like the Mojito, Classic Daiquiri, Margaritas, Moscow Mules or the Punch of the Day. Offered daily from 5 PM – 8 PM.
Featuring insanely delicious food and drinks at staggeringly affordable prices, DÔA’s Hora Loca is just what the doctor ordered. Available 7 days a week from 6 PM – 8 PM, the LatAsian hotspot features $7 cocktails such as the Asian Mule, $5 beers, $7 wine, and $10 Moët & Chandon champagne and SOTO Sake. Their delicious signature bites are priced at $5! Which includes some of my favs like Crispy Squid with sansho pepper, fresno chili, cilantro and lime, and DÔA Chicken Wings with chili garlic, lime, cilantro, mint and peanuts.
